KMOV friends: Wangfei

Wangfei is an artist from Hebei that we met in Guizhou in 2006 when he was studying at the art school in Guiyang. After graduating, he moved to Gansu province in the northwest, and continues there …and is quite prolific. These are some of his meditations on a new landscape and new season of life.

This memory is taken from a winter morning when the mist and light were both thick. A note: I found that when there is lots of mist between mountains, and you are on the side of one mountain looking across to the next, and if I turn my head slowly from one side to another, the mist creates a sort of bird’s eye effect, and the misty slopes on the periphery crowd close in, while the center of focus falls back and away.
